Pink's Is an institution in Hollywood. World renown and something everyone should try at least once in their life. Living in San Diego has afforded me the opportunities to eat there a few times, usually late night or for lunch if I have time to kill. You've seen them on Bobby Flay, Food Network, Discovery, yes it's that good.

First off all the menu is the same and you can't go wrong with the regular menu, but if you've ever tried their specials like the Pastrami Reuben or the Mushroom Swiss you'll see what this place is all about. Their gourmet hotdogs with sides on steroids

Wait I'm not done yet, they have a Super Special menu that has items like the Martha Stewart which is a 10" with bacon, sauerkraut, sour cream, onions, tomatoes.

My personal favorites are the Pastrami Reuben, Mushroom Swiss and the previously mentioned Martha Stewart. I've never had the burger's there, but I imagine they are good too, but again I've only been to Harrah's Pink's once and I'm sure I'll have an update in the months coming as I've gone back and few times to finish trying their whole menu.

Here is where I'm in a pickle. I loved the Hollywood's Pinks, but there are some glaring flaws in the San Diego location. First off it's at one of the most remote casino's in the county, it's hidden in the sports pit and the people working the place are kinda terrible. Slow, rude, not busting thier butt like in Hollywood. My Bacon was a tad soggy, and my dog wasn't layered right. All of this could have been fixed by having the Hollywood people train these cats or franchise it to someone who cares about the food. It wasn't packed either. 2 stars gone. I had such high hopes, but am willing to overlook them rather than drive 2 hours north and wait for 2 more hours for food when i can eat and be home in half the time.

Service was friendly by the cute, young staff! I asked what the favorite dog seems to be at the moment and they steered me towards.Niman Ranch beef is what the hot dogs are made up of--although you could choose from a chicken or veggie option too. The $6.00 Chicago dog was loaded with condiments and all I can say is that the green relish was a color that I have never seen before--funky, funky. A pickle wedge, sliced onions, peppers, tomatoes and mustard surrounded the dog in a good sized bun. I'm not a fan of the taste of Niman Ranch hot dogs--that's just a preference. Everything else was OK! The dog is a meal in itself!!
